What to expect?

  • To see Dr Boros-Lavack, we require a referral from your GP. She will assess whether she is the appropriate specialist to see you. If she is, our administration team will contact you to schedule an initial consultation.

Closer to the consultation time, our team will send you an electronic new patient form and some questionnaires about your mental health.

  • Your initial consultation will be for up to 60 minutes in-person or telehealth / video (telephone consultations are not available).

To complete your comprehensive psychiatric assessment, Dr Boros-Lavack will ask about:

    • the psychological-emotional problems you are experiencing right now.

    • questions about your background history.

    • to complete one or more questionnaires

    • She may also ask you to have a blood test, urine test, sometimes a head MRI,

    • and request collateral information from other health providers and / or people who know you well (with your consent).

At the end she will tell you what she thinks is the diagnosis and what treatment might help. A detailed report will be provided to your referring doctor, the copy of which can be securely emailed to you as well.

  • Dr Andrea specialises in ongoing mental health care in partnership with her patients with chronic or relapsing and complex mental health disorders. Such a partnership requires genuine effort and participation on your part to best achieve your long-term goals.

Her patients are provided with a treatment plan and reviewed on a monthly, 3-monthly, 6-monthly or yearly basis, depending on needs.

She may involve the help of our highly skilled community mental health nurses and TMS coordinator for additional support, monitoring, talk therapy, medication management, Spravato (Esketamine) and TMS treatments.

Patients who are not seen for a year or more, or those who wish to be looked after by their GP, will be discharged from active follow-up. They are, however, welcome to return to her practice at any time.
